Sandie Markland
 | While always a resident of the Outer Banks in her heart, Sandie Markland finally took up full time residence in Kill Devil Hills four years ago with her husband, a retired police officer, and son, a full time college student.
Sandie devoted over 20 years to government service prior to taking up an interest in various forms of art. Her first attempts at artistic expression (other than gardening) involved the carving of volcanic rock into her unique “Stone Spirits”.
Long winter beach walks with her husband and family pet resulted in a growing collection of local sea glass. Eventually, Sandie took advan-tage of an opportunity to learn how to make sea glass jewelry and was inspired to create her own line of unique designs.
Sandie continues to expand her artistic endeavors with new projects and is currently nurturing a growing interest in digital photography. |
